Get to know our new Practice Lead Vindy Hansra and find out about his ambitions to scale the S&S organisational agility portfolio of offerings, who his superhero is and why (hint: he wear gloves) and how his first weeks have been.
Hi Vindy Hansra
Welcome to the team!
How have your first weeks been?
It’s been brilliant. I was encouraged to immerse myself into all things S&S during a really nice phase (end of year) that was relaxed yet intense with a lot of new learning, support and everyone making sure I had what I needed to succeed. It’s been great from an onboarding perspective and time really has gone very quick!
Why did you choose to join S&S?
I’ve been in consulting for 20+ years and was looking for something different this time. I came across S&S and saw immediately that the proposition was unique. S&S has a great vision that seeks to create a positive future of work, reignite client value, and thus reframe the consulting proposition. That’s what I’ve been striving to do for the last 15 years but has been difficult due to the myriad of structural or cultural friction slowing things down.
One thing that stood out for me with S&S was how central culture and ways of working were to the approach we use to drive change, both internally as we scale our business and with our clients to drive value outcomes. The other thing that really resonated with me was the ‘mission’ orientation, again, as a driver of change both internally and with clients; it takes courageous leadership and vision to enable an organisation to drive mission-led change, so I knew I was joining something special.
Finally, it was about the people. Everyone I’ve met at Sullivan & Stanley has been open and authentic and warmly welcomed me to the business. We come in all shapes and sizes, from many different backgrounds, but we come together incredibly well around our vision which I love.
What were you up to prior to joining us?
I’ve been working in technology-driven transformation for almost 20 years, most recently with Thoughtworks for 2 years and previously with Wipro for 8 years. I started my career in product marketing for a global software company which led me towards business change and then onto broader management consulting.
What will you bring to S&S?
I’m looking to bring more focus, a little bit of structure, orchestration, and a whole lot of enthusiasm to scale our organisational agility portfolio of offerings. This has essentially been my focus for the last decade and I love it!
I’m good at finding a straight line from a client problem to a solution that we can deliver better than anyone else. I’ll co-create new consulting offerings and IP for S&S and make sure we give value consistently and are both client obsessed and value driven.
What gives me the most satisfaction at work is knowing I’m creating and evolving something that our clients can use to get real value. Co-creating solutions to client problems is one side of the coin; doing it in a way that is enjoyable and brings the best out of people is the other.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love hanging out with my friends in cool restaurants, swanky bars and other cool spots – typically in London. I’m definitely a sucker for spicy food – Piri Piri and West Indian cuisine always trigger my taste buds.
I love family time too – your regular suburban dad – taking the dog for a walk, dealing with teenager problems, watching my 9 year old run rings around me with her killer rollerblading and skateboarding skills, relishing the excitement of my 21 year old starting to make the transition from university to the world of work, and attempting to converse with my 17 year old who communicates through grunts and text messages.
Who’s your favourite superhero and why?
Thanos from the Avengers movie – without a doubt. He’s purple, big and cool looking. He’s not your typical superhero, and is massively misunderstood – and let’s be real…he has the coolest jewel encrusted glove ever!
Again, a warm welcome on board. We are very excited to have you as a part of our orange team.
